If you were planting early November what would you plant for the season?

I would think anything you would have planted two weeks ago would be ok to plant two weeks from now. I planted wheat oats and brassicas last monday, they are looking great now. My clover field has just sprouted a couple weeks ago, its up looking like little clovers now. I reckon as long as its getting warm up in the day most things youd plant in the fall would be ok.

In 2016 I planted the first weekend of deer gun season. By Christmas fields looked great. Unless this is a historically cold winter you will be fine

...….depending if any gets washed away.
Do you see this as being ok and "just part of the process"?? The reason I say that is because I've noticed a lot of folks make this same comment as if its just a part of planting and no big deal.....even though they're actually having most of their fertilizer washed away as well and suffering from major topsoil loss in the process.

I literally only had this particular day to do the planting and literally just picked this lease up a week prior.. I think for the most part everything should be ok as the dirt seemed to be in decent shape and most fields looked as if they would not hold a ton of water but it should run off.. I only mentioned reseeding Incase I need to throw more seed and fertilizer out.. I would love to have had a better plan and time and plan to take better care of the fields in the spring and through out the year.. my goal is for the fields to hopefully produce and attract deer for the wife, kids and grandkids.. I’m no expert by any means and try the best I can from what I know and read on here 🤔

I’ve just noticed in the past that folks will be quick to nit pick at the issues we may have when doing T&M but they never scrutinize their own method the same way. You may have folks point out that there’s some seed not taking root with T&M but then never say a word when someone posts a pic of a tilled field with gulley erosion. I honestly think that many folks have become so accustomed to it that they actually don’t even see it as an issue if they even “see it” at all. I remember posting pics myself where I didn’t “see it”. I was so proud of the sunflowers that were sprouting and that is what I was showing. When I look back on the same pic now….all I see is the major soil erosion that had taken place.

All water problems aren’t the same and some can’t be fixed with top sewn seed.

If you were planting early November what would you plant for the season? I would plant the same wheat, oats, rye and clover mix that I always do. I have planted many times in November due to October drought and had no problems with it coming up. When we had the late season massive drought a few years ago there was no rain from August until the first week of December. I planted that same mix the first week of December right before the rain and it all came up like normal, surprisingly.
