Do yourself a favor and try to find some of this...

I already like Chattanooga 1816 whiskey, so when I was in Warehouse Liquors over in Rome yesterday and I noticed this I had to pick it up and give it a try. It's a limited release.

Basically what they do is loan their barrels out to beer breweries after they use them to age their whiskey. Then once the breweries use them they get them back and put whiskey in them again. This particular batch was aged in barrels that had whisky, then an Imperial Milk Stout from Three Taverns Brewery in it. It is damn good.

I think it was about $32 in Rome.

Probably should. He has some other limited editions too. This one just peaked my interest at the time. I may have to make another run over there this weekend and see what else he has from 1816.

Found a couple of offerings but not the one you mentioned. Went with the 90 proof. Time will tell

Not sure why image isn't showing up. Normally works for me. Hmm

I was going to try that one next. Let us know how you like it.

The ones in the center are some of their new offerings.

They know what they are doing making whiskey.

Interesting. Thanks for posting. Will definitely pick some up.

Hipster innovation at its finest. Sounds good and I’ll try some if I find it

Earlier this year my wife and I went to Chattanooga for a weekend getaway. We did the tour of Chattanooga Whiskey and I also did their tasting of 6 of their whiskeys. They were all good except the "experimental" whiskeys they had. I don't think they had the one you mentioned there. There main line whiskeys are very good and I keep a bottle of their 1816 Cask at 113 proof in my cabinet.

The 90 proof is really good. Starts a tad sweet but finishes spicy. With a nice smooth oak middle. Definitely easy to sip on. I'll have to try some of their other offerings soon. Good call, Irish!
