Yep. I didn’t mention that area but it is an over the counter sheep tag. The chances for killing a sheep and less than 5% last time I checked.

Hell, I can’t even draw an SOA permit in my home state.

LOL. As I said; it can happen.

I read about a guy that shot the entire grand slam for $100. (Plus tags and license)

He drew a tag in Alaska while a stationed there for a Dall’s. He then drew a tag in New Mexico for Rocky BH with no points. He hunted with a bro-n-law so there was no guide fee. Next he shot a Desert BH after he drew a resident tag in Arizona after he moved back from AK. Last he went to a FNAWS auction and bought a $100 raffle ticket for a stone and won.

I was outside Devils Tower 2 summers ago pulled over looking at wildlife. Rancher pulled over, he thought I had truck trouble. We talked for about an hour and by the time I left he offered up his 20,000 acre ranch for me to hunt. I was out that way again last summer and stopped by and took him to dinner. Now I have to find the time to get out there.

If you really want to sheep hunt book yourself a Aoudad/Barbary hunt in
SW Texas, free range on one of the large ranches out there.
I did it back in 07 and it was the best guided hunt I've ever been on.
Got a 34-1/4" Ram on the ranch where Tommy Lee Jones stayed while
filming No Country for Old Men.
I think I'm gonna have to go back one day.
And as far as North American sheep, if I could kill only one, make it a
Desert Sheep.

Stob you are correct about aoudad. It’s the poor mans desert sheep.

I went and checked a ranch out that was wanting me to start booking hunts for them in 2016. I had hunted aoudad in the past but never in the rugged parts of SW Texas. That Hunt was a blast. I have since sent that guy several clients for both whitetail and aoudad and they all loved the aoudad hunt more than the deer hunt.
