rolltidehunter OP 8 point Joined: Dec 2011 Posts: 1,304 Madison County, AL	I got a decent buck on camera still in velvet but I didn’t think nothing about it until Demp posted about his big buck yesterday. It got me thinking why is it? I have seen others the last few days on Facebook where people have killed velvet bucks. Some people might say due to hot and dry conditions which might be true but it has been been hot and dry before and velvet has came off at normal time. Just curious on y’all thoughts.

I've seen deer down here hold their velvet well into November. To each is own I reckon. Now if you see a buck in velvet in January it either has been castrated or is a he she.
