I own 2 small pieces of land. Both pieces have a house within 50 yards of the gate where small herds of non working people congregate. Things have been stolen from both places. I have people on camera trespassing on both properties. How do I LEGALLY beat them. Fully aware of the other option. And go

Give me bout 15 more minutes, I was dreamin about beavers..........

If possible Id sell the land, if not I’d buy the 2 houses bordering you. It’ll never stop, and in my experience if you prosecute it one it just makes them
Mad.

Hide and shoot them in the eye with a pellet gun. Problem solved.

I like Jiffy cornbread.

I’d tape a bunch of razor blades on the handles of stuff they’d want to steal. It ain’t illegal.

If it’s fenced. A dog. Usually non working people don’t like dogs. Also more cameras and them in the act. If you can get pics of them in the act maybe they can prosecute

I have plenty of time and money to devote to beating them. It’s a challenge at this point

I think your best option is to talk to them and tell them you're there, and that you're not leaving. Complain about having stuff stolen, without accusing anyone. Ask them to keep an eye out for anyone entering your property.

I’d offer them the next deer you kill. Beat them with kindness.

Yup. I would try extending the olive branch a few times and if that doesn't work. Next step, I would put the property up for sale.

That don't work anymore where I'm at (not with the younger crowd anyhow) They don't need something that they kill any day of the week anytime of the year.

Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many!

You're most likely fighting a losing battle. Be nice, and give it a shot, but I have given up before. I got $500+ worth of stuff stolen at a lease a couple of years ago. It was more of and inconvenience than the money, even. Hoping to sit in a stand, and showing up and it's not there is no fun.

I like this approach. It is surprising sometimes how someone who has never been treated with any kind of respect responds when someone does.

Maybe figure out which one is the baddest looking one and offer him some kind of compensation for watching your stuff. Maybe buy them some beer and cigs or give them some cash for every week that something doesn't get stolen. It would give them some incentive to actually watch your stuff.

Neither one of those will probably work, but I was thinking of what Jesus would do... grin

Give the sheriff/GW a key and ask them to regularly patrol. Maybe offer them a deer if they’ll keep an eye on the place.

It could be pizza and beer then.
5 large pepperoni from Little Caesars and 2 cases of Busch Lite could have him be the coolest whiteboy they know.

I’ve dealt with the kind of people that hunterturf is describing in every sort of capacity at some point in my life. These folks you can’t reason with, make them understand things in your perspective, the law, common courtesy or what’s morally right and wrong. They wake up every day just to mess up your good time. It’s all they have to do and want to do. You fight fire with fire. It’s the only thing they understand.
