I'll admit that I haven't done it yet, but I bought a lock on at a thrift store for $8 that I plan on hanging beside a single ladder that I already have for my boy and I to hunt out of. I can't think of a downside. cheap lock-ons can be bought for $40-60 and can turn any single you already have into a double. Funny you say that because I already have a pretty nice single where Im trying to put the double at. My wife and eventually my son will be hunting with me this year and I just figured I would replace the single with a double. May look into the lock on though. I’ve done that several times.
