No but I'm thinking the short barrel is optimized for a suppressor.

Barrels under 20 can start hurting creedmoor velocity, BUT it generally matters far less with the higher BC bullets. Folks seem to love the 18” threaded Barrett Fieldcraft, and shoot it past 1k....just like the longer tubes.

I wasn’t really thinking long range but more of a hunting rifle that would be easily to maneuver. I’ve always like the feel of a fairly heavy short barrel gun. Also figured my son could handle it too

In that case, it’ll be just like the 18” model seven, except better made. Might be some extra muzzle blast, but stuff will die.

I got one about 2 weeks ago. Probably the best trigger from factory I’ve shot. Sub 1/2” moa. Should be easy in the woods. I bought it to hunt with not shoot long range. I did get the 6.5
