Hello..this my first time trying this deer hunting thing....i have a bow with some arrows...they dont all match tho...i bought it yesterday...are broadheads the razor thingys?

Howdy.

What's up y'all! I have been bowhunting Tennessee a few times already but let's do this! Lord willing I can kill a nice buck this year. Team name suggestions?

Am at walmart..whats is a good razor heard tip for my arrows....they have some blue ones and silver ones..and some little green ones with these little wingy things..also....how many grains do need..is more better?

I'm huntin tenn, dekalb co, elmore co, and Clarke co so should be following the rut down starting mid November

I’m hunting in Louisiana, Monroe co. and probably make a couple trips to Arkansas. The rut is in full swing at home right now.

I give up.. . I'll hunt marshall, jackson, chilton,sumpter...alabama. im gonna try to go to kentucky in decmber..an maybe texas in febuary..nothin dont happen ill be in the woods tomorrow afternoon.

No..my wheel bow. I shoot my recurve alot and i can hit with it but i missed a deer with it awhile back and i just been kinda gunshy about hunting with it. Never killed a deer with it..shot a hog but never found it..ive got alot better and im confident i could kill one inside 20yrds. I will be toting it some this year

I hear ya. I just picked one up so I have recurve fever. I definitely plan to get a doe with it this year.

I am planning on going this weekend if it aint too rainy...blessed to be able to hunt some really good private land up near me so seeing deer usually isn't a problem...haven't gone this week due to clinicals at the hospital

I’ve been a few times. Done warmed back up down here and the wind has been out of the east the last couple days. That’s kills my whole area here at the house. Got a couple bucks on camera and some does hanging around. The rut is in full swing here. Gonna get after them again once all this rain passes and the temps drops again. Should be a good weekend. I have only been once and will start going more as the season progresses..

Finally got to go last Friday and Saturday. Did a lot of scouting and found some great sign. Bumped a few does and 2 decent bucks. I will be back in there soon though. One sit I saw a large one cow antlered buck. He got a pass though.

Saw 4 young bucks the other am...buddy saw about 25 with a nice 9, 8, couple of other racked bucks as well...I am hunting the stand that he hunted tomorrow aft, but we are being pretty picky with what we shoot so hopefully our couple of studs will step out.

Good luck..my trip fell through an im huntin in this barren wasteland that is marshall county...i swear this is the sorriest county for hunting there has ever been...its like animals here forgot how to make babys an the few that do cant keep the coyotes an redknecks offem...im just....dang...i tried to jump a deer on purpose after hours of walkin an a out as much sign of deer found as id have found for a mastodon...i couldnt do it...ive come to the conclusion that we really shouldnt have a season here south of the tennessee river..north of boaz...east of snead and west of geraldine...its pitiful...id say 90% of our population is in the state park..i may just be aggervated..but dangit...this place is worthless for deer

Convinced the fiancé to let me go Sat aft. as long as she joins so we Rollin back up to Tenn...prolly bout two weeks from rut...we saw 60 plus diff deer between the three of us Monday aft but just waiting for them studs to show up, needless to say it aint Marshall County we huntin in lol Carbon you sound like me back in college at bama...Tuscaloosa County was some of the worst hunting in terms of deer numbers I have ever seen. I saw 3 deer all year one year, but thankfully all three were 8 points and killed two of them.

Well I’ve been working for 2 weeks now because the other deputy took his vacation. Got to work till wed morning at 0600hrs. Leaving at 0800hrs and heading to the camp. Gonna hunt a couple days with the muzzle loader and then Saturday-Monday with the rifle. I’m ready to get the hell outa here.

Well..i hunted..all last weekend and after pullin my hair out..i switched gears an found some deer..i hunted all day monday an saw 6..i shot at a doe an i swear i couldnt see it xause she was standin in a shaddow, but they was a dang 2in limb twinxt me an her an i centered the dang thang..i was mad but i couldnt help but laugh how silly i felt. It was a good sit an i found some new ground that actually has animals..if it dont get beat on by redknecks i should kill a couple out of there..but ill have to work for them. Glad yall been seein deer..hope yall pilem up..an stay away from marshall county lest what we got is catchin

Well guys, I’m up and at em for the first hunt of the year. It’s a beautiful morning here in Monroe co. Going sit in a big creek bottom that’s full of oaks. Hopefully I can get us a few points. But if not it will still be good to be back in the woods.

Been huntin hard and seen a bunch of does and yearlins as well as young bucks...rut is close up in Tennessee and am going back up there this afternoon for a hunt...how’s everyone else’s hunts been?

Hunted this evenin..saw 6or7 deer..i think one was a buck but he was mivin through some thick stuff, could have killed 2 does..but it is illegal in my wonderful zone..good luck to yall..im wearin tha public out

Between work and college my daughter doesn’t get to hunt much but she did kill her first buck in 5 years this past Sunday.

Im sitn here rethinkin my life...in deep ponderment...no need to worry about seein a deer..tho i am hunting..there are none... Its sad really...what ive gone through to see deer this year...and how little i have to show for my efforts...be thankful if you have a decent place to hunt

Shot right under a small bobcat but then had a buck at last light come to 60 yards and bed down on me...looked like a nice buck but couldn’t see well enough to definitively tell so passed on him...second time I’ve had my optics let me down in my life (maybe one day I will be able to get some zeiss or Syvarksy optics)...it’s about on up there in tenn

I didn’t kill anything last week. Saw 13 does abs yearlings. Goin back to the camp Wednesday for another week. Hopefully we get some cool weather and some bucks want to move around.

We are on our way to the camp for the week. Looks like the temps may be a little warm but we will give em hell. Hope to get points for the team.

Missed a doe at 80 yards yesterday afternoon...found out this am that my scope is 6in high at 100 yards...thankfully I realized it on a doe and not a nice buck

I'm about to start hunting guys. Between overtime at work and a home remodel, I've been super busy. I have three weeks off starting the 14th and will go all out in January hunting the rut..

Carbon, you ever tried public around other parts of the state? I hunted a club north of ttown that I put a years worth of multiple sits a week and only saw 3 deer hunting but killed two of them...after that I said I am never gonna go through this again and got out of there

Yes, but its hard for me to get away..i hunt the crappy land cause its literally across the road from where i work so i hunt it alot. Id like to but i just cant right now. Im hopefully gonna get to go to kentucky tho after christmas..that will probly be my only chance at a decent deer. I dont mean to complain...but its really that bad here.

Yes, I hunt close to coffeville and in Baldwin county, close to the house.

Hunted almost all day.....nothing....i saw a possum....an i entertained the thought of shooting him so i wouldnt have to go home empty handed, 3rd day ive hunted in a row..saw a doe yesterday.

Out of town for the holidays but I’ll be headed to Clarke county for a SOA hunt 26th-29th. I’m hopeful, gotta at least get a doe.

The kids and are Heading back to the camp tomorrow. I’ve made my mind up that it’s time to kill a deer with the 350 legend I built so if a big doe gives me a chance I’ll take the shot if my son lets me hunt with the legend. He laid claim to it the first time he shot it. Either way I’m gonna try to kill a doe.

Section 13. What’s the general area like? I missed the scouting day.

It’s incredible...I hunted that weekend and then the last in January...we had it rough due to flooding rain that weekend but I coulda killed a 2.5 yr old 10 pt at 15 yards but let him walk...don’t be afraid to hunt a greenfield in the aft and we pretty much hunted all day everyday...talk to the warden who lives there for tips cause he will help out best he can...I could give you spots for 14/15 but never saw 13

Nice deer sir, this is my last day in kentucky..ive seen alot of deer and had chances to kill, but i just aint seen a good mature deer here yet..we have been hard after them tho. Good luck to yall
