I’m thinking more and more each day about going to a saddle set up, just can’t decide between tethrd or an H2. Not much of a difference in price or shipping times between the two.

What do you do for back support? Seems after awhile your back would start to ache. Along with your legs

Y'all fellers that are a saddling up are yuns using climbing steps and aiders or yuns using tree climbing gaffs

Neoprene strap that goes from your bridge, under your arms and across your back, and back to the bridge on the other side. Pretty dang comfortable. When you get stiff with that, you can lean forward and rest your torso on your bridge.

I’m very pleased with my H2, but I got it when Heath was able to have it on your doorstep in two days, and they were $150

Gaffs primarily, if I hunt public land I’ll use 3 muddy pro sticks with a single aider.

I like the idea of using the single aider. It will save a stick. I don't think I would like to use the aider between each stick seems risky.

Did a little practicing in my mantis yesterday. With the knaider/swaider I got just about as high as I want to get with 4 wild edge steps (probably 5ft in between each step).

Im using lone wolf steps and added a 2 foot aider made out of amsteel to each step. I can get 20' with 3 steps no problem. Im debating on cutting my steps down to about 24" thou. Should still get close.

Hey if I can climb in my crocs then I know I'll be good to go with my lace up boots. Call it a little extra stress training. Also I was hooked to the tree all the way up and down.

Seems like most folks treat the saddle stand as a harness and don't actually wear a harness. For those that use a saddle and don't wear a safety harness, why is that?

The saddle is your harness. It's pretty much just a tree stand harness without the shoulder straps, mine has under the leg straps and everything. And the way your tether hooks to the saddle it's pretty much impossible to turn over upside down and fall out of it.

They all claim it is a safety harness but then half cut the the leg straps off there saddle. I plan on wearing a harness for a while at least. I like a backup plan.

If your stand fails, what's there to catch you?
