Say you had a newer truck that was under warranty, so you call the service department and set up an appointment. Couple of minor recall jobs need to be closed too. Ok. Drop it off first thing Monday morning. Get a call from them Wednesday morning and they tell you what they found, covered under warranty, part should be here tomorrow, truck maybe done Friday evening. Well Friday comes and goes, as do the rest of the days up to right this minute. No word from them at all. Are you pissed?

They said it would be done Friday, I'd have went down there to pick it up. Or have you called to check on it and it isn't done. Are you waiting on them to call you and tell you it is ready?

FYI...when you get your truck out of the shop they will send you a survey card. Throw it away. Their incentive money is tied to the percent of surveys returned and has nothing to do with how you answer the survey,

Yes I am. I think it's piss poor business to not check in with a customer and let them know what's going on. Takes 2 minutes max. Thankfully between my family we have a small fleet of cars. Several needed driving so I've been making do. That's not the issue. Yeah I could have asked for a loaner but I didn't need it. This is actually the second time this has happened. First wasn't to this extent but yeah.

Things happen

This happened to me at the local Ford dealer under the old owners. Recall, made appointment, take it in the following week and told they have to order the part for the recall. I was pretty pissed when they said they had a part for me but someone else brought theirs in so they used the part to fix his recall while he had it there.

Several dealerships here don’t do loaner trucks. They cite insurance issues. I’m not sure how you could remedy that. They’ll rent you one....

I think I'm just gonna let it go on and see just how little they value my business.
