Yep. Sorry this happened to you but as former Florida LEO Keeping a gun in a vehicle is not smart. First reason is it can easily be stolen. Second reason is people with car guns tend to forget they have them. It is a good way to have yourself taken out of your vehicle at gun point. I've literally seen folks open a jammed glove compartment to get a registration and the gun flies out into their lap. The bewildered look of surprise on their face only gets worse when the LEO holds him at gun point waiting backup to clear the vehicle. Don't be that idot. Car guns are a bad idea.  law abiding citizens shouldn't keep guns in their vehicles because cops don't like it? Its called securing your weapon. Ive seen plenty of shotguns in police cars while they inside eating somewhere....

They've been stolen out of cop cars overnight down south just sayin That's a fact! It happened to a friend of mine who left a handgun in his patrol car and it was burglarized by two teens who took the gun and later that night one of them shot and killed the other!
