We are adding a 24’x20’ section to our current deck. I always wanted an outdoor living space so I started looking for an outdoor tv cabinet. Those things must be made of gold as the start at about $1500. Well I’m decent at woodworking and figured I could build way cheaper than buying. Here’s what I came up with. It’s being built similar to a shed and will have a metal roof. I can’t decide on deck stain or paint but I’m leaning towards paint simply because I don’t want any glue lines NOT accepting the stain. I’ve still got some work to do and to figure out how to lock the sliding doors when closed. Any ideas?

May have to rent a crane to get it on the deck 😂😂😂

Just make sure that roof is flashed properly and sheds water. Otherwise it's gonna find a way in. Looks good. I like the design.

Thanks guys. In regards to the roof I’m thinking galvanized sheet that’s been bent with a press brake to cover both ends on the 4x4 joints. Almost like a tray. Would you do this or something different? I’m gonna add a center beam/joist

Put a u-channel track for the bottom of the doors if you wanna use one lock.

You did a great job on that! Personally, I like that raw wood look without stain. Gotta have some kind of preservative though. Maybe clear poly?

For a lock I would do a vintage/antique look in black to match the other metal. Something like this.....

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Josh, that looks like ponderosa pine, same thing that I had them put inside my entire cabin. Love it. I used ppg sickens clear cetol with uv inhibitors to seal it. Not suppose to yellow.

Just a little update to this project. Hopefully be finished and some cooler weather will get here. Between the new deck (where this is sitting) and the two pieces of furniture I’m whooped. Dang heat has been BRUTAL!

That looks really nice. Does it have to be waterproof?
