Been feeling a toothache coming on for a few days. Broke down and went to the dentist today and a previous root canal is infected and needs to be retreated. I asked about pulling it but he said it has a twisted root around the sinus and really should be retreated. Anyway, my pain has gone from about a "4 or 5" to a solid "8" or worse since he poked and prodded it. Any good remedies besides ice and ibuprofen? Really driving me crazy about now. Taking antibiotics too.

Salt water rinse may help or copious amounts of bourbon

Have it pulled. Problem solved.
I've had several crack down into the root and
had to be pulled. I don't have any more problems
with them.

The antibiotics will start to make it go away by tomorrow. Other than that, if he didn't give you real pain meds, you might as well get schit faced. None of the other BS works.

Your dentist sucks balls if he didn’t give you any antibiotics and pain meds.

I bad a root canal go bad, and it wasn’t repairable, so my dentist said as long as antibiotics will keep it under control and I’m only having trouble once or twice a year to let it ride. After three years it got worse so he pulled it and put an implant in.

Dentist makes a lot more money from a root canal than he does from pulling a tooth. I'd find a new one, especially if I made a visit in pain and left with a weekend of tooth pain ahead of me

Antibiotics supposedly don't work well with alcohol. I never listen and do both but just saying.

Been here long enough to go from "bring 'da pain" to " bring 'da pain meds.

I'd be applying Orajel directly on the tooth about once every two hours.
