Just had a small section of pines thinned. A few trees were skinned up in the process, is there anything I can apply to the skint areas to keep beetles out ?

Wrap tin around them.

Cost effective, probably not worth the effort. It is probably ips beetles, by the time the trees start turning a little brown it is too late, good thing is they don't spread bad. Call your county forester and see if they will come out and give a quick look.

No infestation yet. Just finished thinning this week and wanted to get ahead of any problems. It's not a large area
