k bush OP 12 point K Joined: Aug 2002 Posts: 5,747 Lower AL	Just had a small section of pines thinned. A few trees were skinned up in the process, is there anything I can apply to the skint areas to keep beetles out ? "Cull" is just another four letter word...

It is probably ips beetles, by the time the trees start turning a little brown it is too late, good thing is they don't spread bad. Call your county forester and see if they will come out and give a quick look.
