Anybody ever just completely forget where they left one in the woods? I'm missing one and damned if I can recall where it is, and it's so grown over in places I might have left it I can't find it.

Yep, I had one of the Eyecon Mantis cams a couple years ago and I have no earthly idea where it is. More than likely I stuck it out in a new spot somewhere and forgot where I put it.

One? You're lucky if you only forgot one!
I'm scratching my head, right now, trying to remember where I left three just from last season.
I've probably lost a dozen like that.

Lost a couple

I mark mine on my hand held gps. I print a bunch of maps off and write my cam locations and notes on the maps. Those maps are my journal.

I take mine out the woods when season is over and put them back out around August.

A few weeks ago I was out to get them from leaving them out after season. I pointed to a tree and told my bud, I thought I left it there on that tree. He said "you put it in all that thick vines?" I said "yeah, I guess not" Went back and looked closer...it was on that tree, and completely grown over. The tree had been bare of vines. Pretty sure that's the case with the other one...somewhere.

I found one this turkey season that had been out since fall of 2017. Crazy thing is, it still had battery life. I had several hundred pictures on it but there was a huge gap in the dates, almost like it powered down and restarted on its own. I run a lot of cameras and normally log each location in my phone but stuff happens. I am still missing one and have no clue where it is. Hopefully I will find it before the battery acid destroys it. It was a brand new camera.

I found one a few weeks ago. I had already ran over it with a dozer and tractor with a disc about 3-4 times. It didn't survive. I don't know whose it was but they chalk that one up in the lost column.

Last summer I went to put a camera up on a mineral lick that I put one on every year and when I got to the tree there was a camera still on it from the year before. Completely forgot it was still there. I had one of those moments where you look around trying to see if someone was messing with you.
