My wife got one going through Brantley and her letter, addressed to me of course, had a picture of the vehicle, but no face. Since she admits to speeding, and I don't have the money to fight it, she just paid it. If I were a lawyer or had a ton of money, I would see to it that BS ended.
The truth is she needs to slow down anyways. She got one a couple of weeks before that in White Hall. It was an officer issues ticket. The bad thing about that is the officer lives right around the corner from us so I know he recognized the address. He doesn't know me by address so he didn't put it together of whose wife she is. I had no problem with that. I do have a problem with the next bit though. My son was in the passenger seat and the officer looked squarely at him. A week before that Lang and a couple of his buds went to the Cahaba river to catfish off of the bank. When they got down there, WH officer was stuck in the sand with his squeeze that wasn't his wife. The kids pulled him out and haven't said a word. I don't cheat on my wife, but if I did and found myself in a similar situation there would be three young men that had passes through White Hall at whatever speed they want. Heck I'd be comping them all the token at the casino they wanted too.
Bottom line, I hate camera tickets for reason I've explained before and I'm waiting for a lawyer to hit these things hard. I'll even testify as an expert witness as to the reasons they are unethical by good LE practices.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Agree, but as long as they've been around, you'd think it would have already happened...if they're truly illegal.

You'll slow done now because they just installed parking curbs out into the highway. Did they really? Yep, all through the newly renovated downtown. It all started with the new hardware store. It's something special to see.

they are not illegal if the state legislature has given them permission to enforce criminal laws civilly. They are however, unethical from a LE standpoint. What is legal is not always moral and what is moral is not always illegal.
A lot of attorneys have beaten these things, it is just that none of them have taken them on as a class action. that is what will end them.

My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

Agree, but as long as they've been around, you'd think it would have already happened...if they're truly illegal. They are or have been challenged around the state. Phenix city is one place i believe, I don’t know how that turned out.

If you want to spend the time and money to hire a lawyer, you will almost always beat them. Very few cities are actually operating them legally. The problem is it wil cost you a lot more than the ticket cost to fight it. What are the potential repercussions of not paying it? I couldn't find anything that they could do to you for the one I got in South Dakota. It was a civil issue, there were no ramifications on your driving record, no court date to miss, and they couldn't ding your credit. Why bother fighting it? Just don't pay it. Unless I'm missing something?
