I’m a die hard auburn fan, but this offense is hard to watch.. it is no different than last year. Fire this clown and let Steele takeover and hire a reputable offensive coordinator. Just my opinion You realize Steele has been a head coach before , right? I'm all for Gus getting the boot but I hope AU aims a little higher than a career 9-36 coach.

Firing a coach mid season is never a good thing. Ride it out however it plays out. Just because you don't like the offense, doesn't mean it doesn't work. It has won two games now against a couple of pretty decent teams, by wearing them down. That is and has been AU's offensive MO for many years now. They, and Nix will only improve as we go into SEC play. Whether they will improve enough, we'll have to wait and see. We have the only fan base in America that bitches about being 2-0 with one win over a ranked opponent. Ask TN or FLA St, if they would take that?
Like Bill said Steele had his chance as a head coach. I'd bet money he is happy where he is at. I'm happy where he is at.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I never understood AU getting rid of Tuberville. He got the monster recruits, multiple 8-10 win seasons, almost in the NCG and they beat Bama for 6 games in a row and they fired him. That one never made sense to me.
Then they fired Chizik after one bad season, which is usually common after a national championship.... it's hard to stay high, especially when you lose a QB like Cam Newton. It's the BAMA factor. Every fan base/ University thinks that they can obtain and maintain the Success that Coach Nick Saban has reached...and it isn't possible for most. Throw in the fact that the Barn has severe little brother syndrome and they'll always be second guessing their decisions.

Mark Richt, Kevin Sumlin and Les Miles come to mind.

I’ve wondered the same thing about tubberville he lost what ..one game to bama and got canned...or did see what was coming down the road??

Well I hope They keep Malzahn forever but I just Can’t figure out what he saw in Nix’’s performance to award him as starting QB over Gatewood. I think It is just a matter of time and Nix will find his rightful place on the pine bench.

It's got nothing to do with race. Just ask Jallencrockett, Nix is going to be the first 3 time heisman winner starting with this year. He's the other half of the dynamic duo that is going to be the savior of the AU football program. Gus and Nix, winning together. Probably leaving together.
Couple observations: 1) Watching the game Saturday, I'm afraid that the signature win against "ranked" Oregon will prove, later in the year, to not be so impressive. AU's gonna get some wins but it gonna be a long season. 2) If Gatewood can throw even a remotely accurate pass, he fits Gus's high school offense way better than Nix. Question for Jallencrockett, if Nix is Lamar Jackson, who the heck is Gatewood?????????????????????????? 3)The offensive problem last year was not your OC, it was Gus forcing him to run his rinky dink HS offensive scheme with Gus overruling him and calling a bunch of plays himself. No change from last year to this year yet the supposed playcaller (Lindsey) is gone???? You're now seeing who the real play caller was last year and getting more of the same this year.

9+? Just dont see it. Cupcake this week to be off and running with a 3-0 start, then the SEC schedule starts. Assuming Gus doesnt Gus it up and lose to someone he's not supposed to, AU still has MSU, TA&M, FL, LSU, GA, and Bama. It's gonna be tough to get 9 wins much less 9+. I've been wrong before and I'll openly acknowledge that AU is the luckiest football program to ever put on a helmet and step on the field, but with this years schedule and what they've shown on the field so far, I dont see it.

Nix has completed less than 50% of his passes in two games. Have y'all ever noticed that Nix has yet to do an actual RPO play? Does Gus not run this option like the majority of offense's in the country do?

I haven’t gone fully retard...yet… but as an auburn fan it is hard to watch the same offense trip and fall all over itself for the last few years only to be bailed out by our defense. Only reason I say let Steele have it is to keep recruits there. Boobie whitlow is not the answer at running back and we have to utilize some different receivers. I’ve seen gatewood throw in warmups and it’s understandable why he didn’t get the job. That being said the same read option plays he runs nix can run too, he ran this offense in high school. Only difference is he had a better coach.😂 if we are lucky we will finish 8-5 and Maleah’s will keep his job.. just my 2 cents I'm not sure that Gus keeping his job after an 8-5 season is very lucky for us.
