It's sickening to think about how our veterans were often treated by people even in their hometowns when they returned. They deserved better.

When I returned we were due to land in New York but plane made a last minute change and landed in Boston because of a big crowd on ground in New York planning a demonstration of the war. After leaving Boston and landing in New Orleans there was a crowd cheering welcoming home some of us vets. New York was and still is a big chit hole.
