I don't believe in hunting over bait, never have never will. I can't believe it's MY responsibility to walk and scent up a whole 200 yard circle around my climbing stand before daylight every morning and evening searching for bait that some jackleg put out. What happened to innocent until proven guilty? This ain't right. It should be the baiters responsibility to put some kind of signage up every 30 feet or so in a 100 yard circle around HIS bait. Chuckie says you don't have to bait. You just need to buy his license as an insurance policy. That way, you don't get a ticket and he gets another $15.00 from you and an additional $45.00 match from the Feds. He needs your money and theirs.  Cuz gets it!

This is going to be just like people reporting their deer kills. A bunch of people are not going to pay the $15 and just hunt over the corn pile exactly like they did last season.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

I am gonna blind fold and put ear muffs on my 7 yr olds and carry all our crap by myself to make sure they do not assist Don’t let him wear camo either. If you stand behind him, they could say you’re using him as concealment like a ground blind.

In the past me along with several other buddies have taken kids on their first hunt and taken some kids who's dad was absent or who did not hunt. Now you have to be careful on your club land that somebody don't have a mineral block or some corn at the back of a Greenfield. That's what I would need is to be taken an underprivileged kid and him getting a ticket.

Just for clarification purposes so that I don't appear hypocritical, I will be purchasing one of the baiting privilege licenses, along with my annual hunting and fishing license, when Chuckie gets the DCNR website back up.
My position here is that I feel like this whole ordeal is nothing but a money grab by the State. Hunting over bait really isn't the issue with me. I couldn't care less whether we can or can't. I strongly believe that it should be totally illegal to hunt over bait or totally legal to do so WITHOUT any fees attached.
We are now having to pay an additional fee for a right that they call a privilege. Many states have made it legal to hunt over bait but with no fee attached. Where will it stop now? Pretty soon we are going to have to buy a license to use a tree climber, buy a license to use binoculars, buy a license to plant a greenfield and so on. I know those are ridiculous sounding examples but really, there is no telling where or what this will lead to.
I'm not aggravated that baiting got legalized. I'm aggravated that we have to pay a fee to do it. I'm aggravated that old folk, kids and lifetime license holders have to pay an additional fee to do it.
Chuckie and his department ain't fooling nobody.
