I’m sure the dealership explained what the E stands for. If not there is a small handle behind the seat that slows the engine RPM down and allows the PTO to turn at 540rpms. Cuts the fuel consumption way back. We have a 5101E and it’s a great little tractor but built a little lite for our operations. Keep an eye on the rear axle bearings and for the little fuel leak on the injector pump. Keep those axle bearings greased up good. It’s a mess when they go out. For your purpose you shouldn’t have any problems and many years of service out that tractor. Also, I’m not sure if the heater hose on that model is ran under the steps but I would check and try to reroute them. They rub on the step and will blow out and you will be stuck with an overheated tractor at the farthest point you could be from your truck. Don’t ask just trust me. Also there has been some brake issues with the E series. You will have a dead pedal and when you let it up and push it again it will lock the wheels up and try to throw you out the seat. Also don’t put anything you want to keep dry in the tool box. It leaks. Guess I will stop now. Good luck and enjoy it. Damn. Marsh is trying to talk him out of it already

It’d look freaking awesome with a 9’6” tufline disk behind it Matt it sure would buddy. I think I’m gonna take your advice and try to get me a no till drill to go behind her. I have free access to Brown 9’ harrow if I need one that’s heavier and wider. My best friend uses his tiller all the time and we could both use a drill. I think my money would be better served investing in a drill. I’ve got my eye on Tye that coming up for auction. I might try to buy it right if possible.

Other then the few things mentioned, ours had held up fairly good considering what the poor thing goes thru.

Well dam. I don’t feel so bad about the way we treat ours. We waited a couple weeks before we threw it off in the mud. That’s what I like to see. Get all that crap out the way and knock the new off of it quick. Now you can really put it to work.

Nice tractor. The only thing that I would have to change is widen the tires out so it won’t feel so top heavy.

Marsh I bought it use there is no doubt about that. Wasn’t planning to stick her out the gate on the first hour of day two but you know the saying “crap happens”. It was a good learning experience because I have very little FEL experience. My Kubota did not have one. I know what to do now if I find myself back in a similar situation. She got a little mud on her but nothing a pressure washer wouldn’t take off.
