I’m sure the dealership explained what the E stands for. If not there is a small handle behind the seat that slows the engine RPM down and allows the PTO to turn at 540rpms. Cuts the fuel consumption way back. We have a 5101E and it’s a great little tractor but built a little lite for our operations. Keep an eye on the rear axle bearings and for the little fuel leak on the injector pump. Keep those axle bearings greased up good. It’s a mess when they go out. For your purpose you shouldn’t have any problems and many years of service out that tractor. Also, I’m not sure if the heater hose on that model is ran under the steps but I would check and try to reroute them. They rub on the step and will blow out and you will be stuck with an overheated tractor at the farthest point you could be from your truck. Don’t ask just trust me. Also there has been some brake issues with the E series. You will have a dead pedal and when you let it up and push it again it will lock the wheels up and try to throw you out the seat. Also don’t put anything you want to keep dry in the tool box. It leaks. Guess I will stop now. Good luck and enjoy it.

I’ll have to look into that when I get home from the rig. This tractor is heavier than the Kubota M7060. There were several other minor things that made me chose the JD. The cost difference wasn’t a deal breaker but definitely didn’t help on top of the other information I had. Why I decided to go Green was 4 people I know run the E series in the 5055e, 5065e and 5075e. None had a bad thing to say about it. I have a good friend that has two club members with new M7060’s and both stay tore up and one the dealership can’t fix. That sent me running back to a tractor with more warranty. With these newer tractors more warranty is a nice option to have. If it starts giving me problems someone else with get the pleasure of owning it

I can only hope this green one severs me as well. ] That is a really nice tractor and I’m jealous, but I hope it doesn’t sever you.

Dang Marsh that doesn’t look good!! I know your equipment sees heavy use and in some demanding conditions. I’ve got a couple buddies in Mamou, LA that are rice farmers. They are rough on their equipment and run green paint. If it can hold up to what those two put theirs through it’s pretty good equipment.
