The Shoals got a lot of rain in short time. I sprayed today before the rain and then got a call that the Trace field were flooding so I took off down there to move equipment. Water was crossing the West bound lane on 72 at Chiska Station. I've never seen so much water coming from the fields hitting the ditches like that. It was unreal at the volume of water flowing, literally shooting thru the roadside culverts.

Florence and surrounding areas got pounded yesterday. Sucks for you guys in the NW part of the state that have been hammered with rain most all summer amd getting flooding rains right here at the start of harvest season. I wish more of it had spread to the east along the way, but very thankful to be getting rain here now. I hope it continues.

Were early enough in harvest it didn’t hurt us too bad. We’ll get back at it soon. Everybody needed a rest. Several are over halfway done with corn. Cotton still needed this rain

It's pouring down here. Expecting up to two inches in the next 24 hours.

We’ve had 1/2” so far at the house, we could use a slow rain of about 4” over a couple days.

I’m so sick of rain. We started harvesting rice on Aug 9 and only have a touch over 200ac done. Still have a little over 400ac still in the field. If it had any quality it, that’s all gone. Probably gonna have to be sold for chicken feed. We were hoping to at least meet the quality to sell it to Budweiser. That ain’t happening. Man I will be glad when the year is over with.

Talked with a Cherokee farmer today, said since Friday afternoon they measured just over 12 inches of rain in their gauge.
