I stated “tow” vehicle. This is the vehicle doing the towing, not being towed.

I got one I’m running on the right back of my truck right now like that. I had it plugged and the guy said he couldn’t guarantee the plug. He said there was about a 90 percent chance of it staying. That was about 60,000 miles ago. I had just bought the truck about 3 months before and it came with Goodyear tires. I didn’t want to spend 280 dollars on a replacement. He told to keep it on the right rear and that I couldn’t rotate it. Still looking good so far.

Thats identical to my truck tire. I plugged it in the exact spot. Been 6 months ago. I even bought the metal pluggin tools.

I'd plug anything in the tread but nothing in the sidewall. Tread shoulder like shown in the picture would be ok. Steelbelts under the tread for structural support but nothing but nylon cords in the sidewall.

I would plug it and forget it. being in maintenance ive had only one plug in over a hundred fail, and that was a cut. I even plugged the front tubed tire on my sportster to make it home
