Need a lot more details.Hope somebody didn't string a wire across an active four wheel trail with out it being flagged..How long have no trespassing signs been up near the location?

Nothing has happened. I just got to thinking about other day. You have a gate up and you run barbed wire fence off the sides to prevent folks from walking/driving around the gate. Idot trespassers come along and somehow get hurt on the wire. Can they sue your or landowner and actually get something?

Save the wire and drive tposts in across the trail and flag. They cant be cut and are hard to remove

A barbed wire fence in an area where one may expect a fence and used to prevent access or direct access or containment (gate area) should not be considered a hazard in any sense to any reasonable person. Why? Because that is the purpose for fencing and appropriate location for fencing.. I wouldn't worry one second about that.
Wire strung on a trail is a different story.
