That's a misinformed, inaccurate, unsubstantiated personal opinion. Here's an accurate description from experience. My daughter has a 2018 grand Cherokee that has been a very good reliable vehicle. My cousin has a fairly new jeep liberty which has been a very good reliable vehicle. In the past 20 years, I've had a jeep Cherokee, my mom had three jeep Cherokee, my grandad had a jeep Cherokee and one of my aunts currently has a jeep patriot. All have been very good reliable vehicles. We have owned a 93 Cherokee, and I currently own a 02 Liberty, 03 Wrangler, and 06 Commander. My mother drives a 15 Cherokee and my niece a 15 Grand Cherokee. I cannot speak to the Patriot as it is one of the few we haven't had, but there is a reason there have been 6 in our family: they are solid vehicles. YMMV

Same here, DoeNut. We got over 250k out of the first Cherokee, and have between 150k-185k on the current 3. Routine maintenance and a few minor repairs along the way that are to be expected such as alternators, water pumps, etc. that I typically do myself. Haven't found any sky-high or short supply parts either.
