Well I was 80 years old before I killed my first mountable deer 🦌 I am 81 now still driving although I don’t run any races but I’m going deer hunting just as often as my son-in-law will let me 😤

I am drinking from my saucer cause my cup has overflowed. Thank you Lord

I have always loved hunting with older gentlemen and younger kids. I especially like the conversation with both groups after a hunt - they seem to enjoy it more.

I thought hunting/fishing was what you're supposed to do when you're old/retired?

I would quit when I would be a treat to someone. Unable to hold a gun, think I see deer everywhere, etc

For me, it would be if I ever stopped enjoying it. But I don’t ever see that happening.

I could probably quit now if my son didn't enjoy it so much. I enjoy the work leading up to hunting season probably more than actually hunting. I do love putting other people on deer, especially kids and women.

Wonder if you could put one of those stair chair lift systems on a shooting house. This question really came to my attention a year or so ago when a friend of mine who is about 10 years older than me stated "you know, at best you only have 15 or so more good years left in the best case scenario.".I am 62 and hope to get at least another 15-20 years. My Mom is 82, has kept herself in good shape, has not had any serious health issues and she could hunt in a limited capacity. At 62 I am definitely seeing there will be more restrictions on what I do.I definitely am more prone to falling due to a lack of feeling in my feet so I watch where I go and move slow in uneven terrain.Just try to stay concious of my age any time I am out doing the farm thing.I will be replacing some shooting houses and none of them are going to over 10' high and with really good ladders or stairs in anticipation of what is coming. There is nothing good about aging except the alternative.

Amen on the aging thing, I am going to do what I can to avoid the alternative. I'm fortunate that if it came down to it, I could sit in my lazy boy, open a window and kill deer so I do have some wiggle room

I have seen multiple.lift systems to get.wheelchairs into shooting houses. Some of them are pretty amazing.

I’m 55. Still hunt. Not as much though. Probably 8 to 10 weekends during deer season

59, he's barely dry behind the ears. If you think 59 is old, you must be very young

Yes young and sprung, will be 31 in October and loving it. More to your point though, I typed that because I saw a few posts that said they were having troubles in their mid 50s’ and early 60s’. My dad is in great healthy shape and so am I. Like I said in my first post, only thing that will make me quit hunting anything, is if I stop enjoying it. And I doubt that will happen! thumbup
