I've heard an older gentlemen on the radio a few times now who breaks down the bible really well and I would like to look for some of his past shows or books online. I've never been able to catch his name. I caught him on a station around Birmingham this weekend and I've heard him on 102.5 around Athens a few times. He's older with a classic southern (almost Virginian) accent. Anyone got any guesses? The premise of the show is people email in questions they have about the bible and he picks it apart. Thanks in advance.

Most likely Dr Vernon McGee out of Los Angeles. Can't mistake his voice.
Interesting thing is he died in 1988.

So true.... I've been listening to his analysis of each book of the Bible like i'm on the edge of my seat. That's the thing about God's eternal truth and the men who understand it..... It's a timeless knowledge.

I've been able to find all his stuff on his website (https://www.ttb.org/) or it's also available through podcasts which I use iheartradio.org. I'm sure you can also pick it up through the iPhone app or whatever phone you use.

I've been watching a two part documentary "A lamp in the darkness: The untold history of the bible" I'm on the second part now. It's been eye opening in some ways. In other ways it fits with what I already knew, or leaned towards. It's not about the scripture itself. It's about the Catholic efforts to tamp down the common people from reading the bible rather than get their message directly from the Catholic church. The second installment of the series points out some things that mirror our own times with both the pulpit and the press.
