Wind direction and ease of access should be considered.

As far away from the field as you can put it and still make the required shot. Yup.

As far away from the field as you can put it and still make the required shot. I used to like this option but it sure makes it difficult to identify deer right at dark. I like mine 25yds off the field at the most. Also it depends on where the deer bed and where they enter the field from. I used to buy the southeast corner of a field theory as well but seems now days south and east winds are just as common as north or west. However most deer we kill are during cold front conditions with high winds and those typically come from the N or W so S or E side stands are the most productive for those days.

My best property is a long (East to West) and narrow 100 acre piece that has all open fields to the North and all deer approach from the South or East. It is extremely difficult to hunt and placing stands on the South side of a plot is not an option there. I probably should give up on this property but the game cameras show too many shooters there to give it up. I guess they get big when the advantage is so strongly in their favor.

Build the house as air tight as possible and leave the windows closed until you are ready to shoot.

Build the house as air tight as possible and leave the windows closed until you are ready to shoot. X2. We have a new house that’s air tight. You can hunt it in any wind and it’s right on top of the field. You just gotta get there early. The downside, if it’s a warm day that house will be a hot mofo.

About 50 yards from the corn pile, down wind of course. With the heater on in it, leave the windows closed until you’ve picked the biggest slick head out you wanna shoot.
If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

Build the house as air tight as possible and leave the windows closed until you are ready to shoot. This^^^^^^, if the plot is down wind , shut the windows. Be more concerned about ingress and egress and not being silhouetted by the sun.
