5โ€™10โ€ - I could finger roll one, but never dunk. I tried many a time and many a time either pinned it to the front of the rim or bounced it off the back of the rim.

James will wake up from his nap soon. Iโ€™m sure he will describe how well he handles balls.

I was a touch over 300 lbs when I graduated high school and I could dunk then. I could also stand flat footed and jump on a 42โ€ box. I was in shape then.

Back in the day I could touch the rim but couldn't dunk. Didn't really care enough for basketball to even play it. Played football. Should've played baseball. If I attempted any sport now id need a night or 2 in the ER.

Yes....a long time ago. When I was a junior in high school, I made it my goal to be able to dunk. I don't know why seeing that I didn't play basketball. Two years of those shoes that had the platform on the balls of your feet, leg days out the wazoo...it finally happened. Once the first one went down, it only got easier from there. Started playing around and got pretty good with most of the fancy dunks. Windmill, off the backboard...etc....well fast forward 3-4 years..I was on scholarship playing baseball at south Alabama....was a pitcher...me and a couple guys were at the rec center shooting some hoops. I said check this out..threw the ball off the backboard and was gonna do a sideways tomahawk. Well when I went to plant, my ankle rolled and I went down like a ton of bricks. Being 21 and completely unaware of my surroundings and also it hurt like a mother, I went to cussing up a storm. I'm talking
loud and every word in the language. I guess it's funny now(20 years ago) there was an old lady arobics class going on in the same gym. They scolded me up and down for my language....bad part was this was mid season, missed 3 weeks...almost got my scholarship pulled...last time I ever dunked...or should I say tried to...haha

Basketball was a fun sport. But no way this 5'10 point guard could ever dunk but I could shoot, pass and dribble with the best of them

I could throw one down until I was in my late 20โ€™s. I went to an all black school so it came natural to me. Iโ€™ve spent the last 20 or so years bulking up for the day I take up weight lifting.

I could cup it and dunk it, dunk it backwards and take off just outside the circle and dunk it. I actually have 2 different people on this site that can vouch for that. I still ran pick up games with the AUM and Faulkner players until I was about 26.

I was able to dunk a mostly inflated volleyball one time, but I never could get high enough to get a Basketball down. I was only able to dunk the volleyball that one time. I'll bet I tried 100 or more times over the next week or two and came close a few times but never could do any better than bouncing it off the back of the rim. A basketball player I wasn't. I swear I was 5' 11-3/4" back then but last time I stood in front of a tape I was only 5' 10-1/2". I know our spine compresses over time, but it has had more of an effect than I thought.
