I’ve never seen one that had the bottom slats running this direction - all I’ve ever seen run the other direction... The top piece looks like all the other Summits that I’ve seen. I see potential to roll an ankle standing on that and contorting/leaning around to get a shot. I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. I remember hunting out of a an older Summit that had slats running that way. Had a hand climber if memory serves. The give away is the hinged cover flap you open adjust the length of the cable. I like that old system much better than the newer models but it will swing open when your climbing if you’re not careful and it will bend after a lot of use. I never did mind the direction of the slats.

I like that setup too, but I aways drilled out the rivet and removed them flimsy locks. Never had a problem with a cable coming loose. My opinions and comments are my own.
