Round two with the grilled livers. I cooked these much less than the first batch. Total time on the grill for these was around 13-15 minutes. The first half of that time was on aluminum foil, then once they firmed up, straight on the grill over direct heat for 6-8 minutes. The taste is a little stronger on these but I put less seasoning on them. These are still moist inside. Just right on the cooking time. Temp was 350.

What exactly are you doing to them? Salt/pepper? Marinade?

You let them firm up on some aluminum foil first, then transfer them to the grill grate? Sounds awesome.

I put McCormicks chicken seasoning on the first batch. The ones I cooked last night I put garlic salt on half and the McC chicken seasoning on the other half. I did put some BBQ dry rub seasoning on one last night just to try and it was real good. Too many carbs in the BBQ rub for me to do many like that, but it tasted really good.

Yes that's exactly what I'm doing. The don't fall through the grill when I do them that way. I love the fire cooked taste with them.

I don't eat liver of any kind. But I've been experimenting with Gizzards, you have a good method of making them so they don't chew like a Goodyear tire? 😀

No. The best ones I've ever eaten were at the Chicken Shak in Luverne. We use to order them, "Soft cooked" I don't know if they boil them first or what but they were good.

My granny cooked them when I was a kid and I can remember eating them and not throwing them up so they must have been ok. Ive fished with them so much since then that I just cant imagine putting one in my mouth. Just a hang up of mine I reckon.

I just can't think about them or I'd never be able to eat them. I just eat them. Cooking them myself is pushing my limits. I've eaten a bunch of them but I had never cooked one until a week or two ago.

Disgusting. I’m not eating the organ that filters poison... chicken, steer, deer, pig... doesn’t matter. You can have my share.

Yeah been doing some research & that seems to be the go to first (boiling them) I found a fried recipe by a nice looking nubian princess on YouTube 😁 But dang it takes time lol. Found one for the slow cooker that looks to be some count, but i think i might experiment with the insta pot in the coming week...

Liver is a Superfood

Gonna try these soon. The Mexican market down on Greensprings here in Bham sells chicken hearts too.

Pressure cook them first.

I have a friend who eats raw beef liver. He says its good as long as its fresh. Ill have to take his word for it. Hes on a raw diet, does not eat anything cooked, eats all his meat raw. Little too weird for me.
