You know you can buy new carbs off the net for less than $15 for most small engines. Usually cheaper than the shop labor charge to clean.
"Cull" is just another four letter word...

If it starts but won’t keep running I’ve got a dollar that the spark arrestor is gummed up. Hell it could be but it's beyond me and the shop that I trust to fool with anymore. Just throwing in time and money and frustration and it not worth it to me to keep making me crazy.

It’ll start and run and keep running but bogs down when I try to start cutting and put pressure on it. And yes the blade is sharp. And yes there’s fuel and chain oil.

Another sign it’s the spark arrestor. When you lay into it it can't vent out the exhaust therefore causing back pressure bogging it down and quitting I could be wrong but I’ve had it happen on 2 cycle small engines and most people don’t think to check it. If you still have it next time I head to Nashville I’ll take it off your hands.

Just trying to help bud. I know, and I appreciate, really. I’m just way beyond the point of f—-ing around with this thing. I’ve wanted to chuck it in the river 5 out of the 6 times I’ve tried to use it. I don’t need a chainsaw often, but when I do I need it to run. If someone else can get it running and keep it running I’d rather it be a blessing to them than it keep kicking my @$$.. 🙂

I've got some old huskys still running. But I actually did toss a homelite down a bluff a few years ago. Far as I know it's still laying at the bottom of that hill where it landed.
My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

My granddad had a Homelite that weighed about 30lbs and would saw a tank in half. Of course that saw was made in the early 70’s. Homelite hasn’t been worth a crap in about that long.
