Birdcarver you might want to consider some largemouth catch and release on Lake T, check page 25

So, do they lump spots in with largemouth (as far as that report is concerned) since they're so closely related or no? I know, at least on Lake Tuscaloosa, I catch quite a bit more spots than largmouths

EDIT: Nevermind, just read this: If a particular species is not listed in the advisory, it is prudent to assume similar species with
similar feeding habits should be consumed with caution.

I'm really surprised that Wedowee has an advisory on spots near the dam. I always considered the Tallapoosa river one of the cleanest in the state. I've probably only filleted 1000 or so spots from that area. Maybe that's what is wrong with me.... laugh

I read a few months ago that parts of the lake was bad. They keep flipping back and forth the last few years that i been watching it. I read it on local news and state news. Sometimes it says in moderation like once a month then it will rarely say none ever. They put signs up along the tenn river a few weeks ago saying dont eat catfish. This was wheeler or downstream i think. Its on facebook....the signs.

It’s not real clear but I think that refers just to the main body of the lake. If you look at it by creek it says not to consume bass from Town creek

Guys I worked for Hunt oil co in Tuscaloosa al for 38.5 years 10 of those years as a asphalt laboratory technician. We washed our hands and floors with Benzene and trichloroethylene ,Used to wash mercury head dimes with mercury to make them shine and pour it on concrete floor just to watch it splatter. I had a side job working for friend dumping raw 50 lbs of asbestos [no mask] in roofing cement, all the guys that worked with me and done these things are now dead, so I don't think I going to stop eating fish because of a report from our government, that being said I'm going to keep all the fish I CATCH and if you hear I'm gone tell everyone on here mercury got me. 73 YEARS OLD AND STILL EATING FISH. Have a blessed day, rofl gun
