I agree Outback, but the bottom line is, it should have never been a crime to begin with. We have too many game laws as it is. We can only kill 3 bucks, legally. Enforce that law and forget about all the silly laws that worry about how or when you kill it. I agree with no hunting on a public road, that's dangerous and no hunting at night. With a 3 buck limit, why cant we kill 2 in one day? You cant kill but 3. Why should they care if we shoot them in a clearcut that has native browse that attracts them, in a food plot planted to attract them, or over a feeder. Why should the state care, as long as we only kill 3 bucks.? BTW, for all the people who are against baiting deer, I've found none who are against baiting in dove. Whats up with that?

That's a excellent point, especially about dove.

No doubt.

Let's see how many kids under 16, hunting with their Dads this year over bait, with no permit, gets by WITHOUT getting a ticket...

Answer guys is very simple: Don't Bait.

Folks been killing deer for hundreds of years without baiting them. I don't think it will help in the long run. I'm not a pro, but I always kill a couple of mature bucks each year without bait. I know folks around me feed deer and they complain about getting only pictures. It seems deer get real smart once season opens and know what will happen if they visit the area during legal hunting hours. I see businesses making a profit selling corn this year, so they will be the winners.

If you want to hunt over corn just buy the permit. I think once we test positive this year for CWD it all will change. I plan on buying the permit just in case I am unaware there is bait in an area I want to hunt. I have access to 4 different tracts of property and I know someone on each will be feeding.. I will just focus heavily on the rut and do what I have always done.

Lotta skwerels gonna get killed on these bait sites. Probably going to increase population densities of predators too, defeating the whole purpose of baiting. You think a deer is going to hang around where a coyote knows he can get an easy meal?

Yeah, they had to stop using feeders in Texas because the coyotes and black painters ran off all of the deer. rolleyes

Know of someone in Crenshaw county got one for hunting over bait $250 fine, $250 court cost, total $500, $15 is a lot of savings whether you agree with it or not.

Just checked the deed to my property and it says I own it. Says nothing about a feeding permit, seasons or bag limits (or turkey season opening on Saturday)

As much as I wholeheartedly agree, and understand your position, the wildlife legally doesn't belong to you. Although the property is yours, the wildlife is a natural resource. That's the reason I get so upset when they implement rules to pacify people.

You think you own it. You’re still just renting it from the government. Skip paying the property tax and see what happens.

Property taxes are the biggest government scam of all.
