That roof should run about $3-$5k at most. Shop it around.
Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many!

Around $220 per square. That's material, labor and dump fee. Tear off and nail on. That’s around 13 squares at $220.00 = $2,060.00 Not bad at all for everything. He said the house is 1250 square feet. Sounds like he means the sq footage of the house itself. Roof will be a little more. It has a low pitched roof but it looks like at least a 2' overhang. Without trying to do the math from a picture, I'm thinking between 14 and 15.5 sq.

$8,500 on 2,000 sq. foot with architectural shingles, 30 year warranty. Two year workmanship. BEWARE that a lot of roofers are fly-by-night operators. The guy that did mine did ok work but was VERY hard to get ahold of to repair a leak one year later. I was getting ready to show up on the doorstep of his residence.

Insurance companies will only pay about 230 for 3 tab. That's a 4/12 hip roof, low to the ground. They won't pay any upcharge. Shingles will cost you $80 per square that leaves about 75 to tear ioff and dump and 75 to nail on. That's assuming it's one layer. If it's 2 layers add about $15 if you go dimensional add about 15. What Bates said. They're going to prorate it too. What you get paid will also depend on the # of years the existing roof has been there.

30 year shingle replace on a 1800sq ft roof with low pitch...$15k...give or take a few$$ thats ridiculously high when I used to roof a tear off and install was $175 per 100 sqft give or take depending on 3 tab or architectural shingles so assuming it may be $250 per square today its a $4,500 job. and thats on the high end
