Y’all remember the summer of 07? In August that year we had at least 10 consecutive days of 100+ degree temperatures. I was a sawyer feeding wood into a saw 12 hours a day. No air moving through that metal building at all. I was acclimated to working in the hot weather then but that was brutal.
The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life. Job 33:4

30 years ago. Working at Phillip Morris in Concord North Carolina. Digging footers when I was 16 for a summer job. Had several people drop/pass out and the super was passing out salt tablets like candy. That was the best real-life learning experience in my life.

2008 in Al Kut Iraq, From April until October in didn't dip below 110 in the day and got as hot as 140 a few times. Like putting your face in an oven and turning on a hair dryer.

Working above a paper machine where it’s about 130 degrees and high humidity. You don’t stay more than just a few minutes.

Working for a contractor driving an articulated dump truck and the air conditioner went out. I don't remember if it was July or August, but there were 2 windows in the cab that were about 5" x 12" and the speed limit was 5 mph. On top of that, the only thing between me and the transmission heat was about 1/8" piece of loosely bolted down metal. I spent 9 hours in there that day. I stopped a couple of times just to get out and stand in the sun (because there was no shade around) just to cool off.

when i was maybe 20 on a roof we put the homeowners outdoor thermometer up there with us it pegged out over 130° we could only work from sunrise to about 10am then around 4 until dark. once some college aged kid pulled up with his dad one day looking for a summertime job he said he could climb a ladder and carry shingles so we hired him for $12 an hour he lasted about an hour and had to lay down in the garage with a wet towel and call pops to come take him home never even came back to collect his pay.

Played baseball as a kid in AZ when it was 114, but I don't remember it being as bad as this past weekend when our AC went out Saturday afternoon and couldn't get the part needed until Tuesday afternoon. I was zapped and just now feeling OK again.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Cannot remember the specific year but back when I was working construction in my 20's. The hottest would have to be changing out the heating coils on the mezzanine floor over the paper machine at a paper mill. Don't know the exact temp but it had to be 130 to 140, You could only stand working in it for short periods.

It was either '99 or 2000 where there were something like 17 days above 100. High was 107. I do remember that. I worked summers and other school breaks for two uncles that owned a swimming pool business. The pools were the in-ground, sand bottom, liner style. We were sanding a pool that day. I remember the brightness of the sun reflecting off the walls while troweling the sand. But the hottest I've been is working on furnaces and ovens. I've come off a furnace before where my soles had melted and looked like I was wearing clown shoes.

1983 or 4 Camp Shelby, MS. It wasn't that it was that hot, just no way to cool off.

2 a days 1995 broke the record for the most consecutive 100+ degree day. And water made you weak.... That's terrible! I'm nearly heartbroken just reading this awful story. Football practice in warm weather!?! You poor man, I can't imagine the trauma.

The hottest I’ve ever been was in about Feb of 2004, building scaffold in a recovery boiler at a power plant in Indiana. The temp outside was -5°. The temp inside the boiler was around 110°-115°, and that’s after it had been shut down for a few days to allow it to cool before we went in.
