Anyone familiar with the town? I'm going to be moving there at the end of August. I'll probably rent for the first few months before buying. My ex wife is relocating there with her job and my 14 year old daughter so I'll be following for the 3rd time in the last 6 years. Any area I should avoid or areas I should look at?

Bill, are you still holding a candle for the ex? 😁

Did you get spousal support in the divorce agreement?

Not even if she were the last on earth. We get along for my daughter's sake and it wasn't a bad divorce but I am much happier single and she's much happier without me. smile

It was understood from the onset of the divorce that I would be an everyday part of my daughter's life and that we wouldn't have set visitation. It's worked great for both of us and especially for my daughter.

Huh? My daughter lives with her mother. I just move wherever they do so I can be there to help raise her.

I worked in Nashville for twelve weeks about fifteen years ago with one of the police supervisors. I can't help you other than to say that he spoke positively about living there.

More parents from a split situation could take a lesson from you. thumbup

That’s how a dad is supposed to act.

I commend your dedication to being a great father. I don't know that I agree with "That's how a dad is supposed to act" statement. I love my children as much as the next guy but couldn't imagine uprooting my life and career multiple times in a relatively short period due to the fact that an ex-wife is chasing her successes. However, I have never been faced with this dilemma.

I installed some approach lights at the airport 1st week of march. Most of the local folks I met were nice. Froze my butt off. Don’t think it ever got above freezing that week. Opportunity to hunt turkeys in two states.

If the Whitt’s bbq is still out in front of the Ashland city Walmart look hard at moving to pleasant view or Ashland City. They are about 20 minutes or so away. Either that or between them and Clarksville is good or move into KY for the deer hunting. Carry a light tackle open face rig with you at all times to fish in any creek you come across. They all got small mouth bass in them and a 3 pounder will make you love them.

I’m very familiar with Clarksville. Matter of fact I’m here n. I’m in Clarksville about a week out of every month for my job. There’s a unit I support that’s stationed up here (sn). Become a regular at Rafferty’s. Theresa will take care of you and the food is excellent!! I may see you around!

Guys, I appreciate the compliments on me being a good father but they aren't really deserved. My daughter made me a better person and made me want to do better. Not sure I would be worth killing if not for her. I own my own business that I can run from anywhere so it's not a big deal for me to move when they do. 4 more years and i'm moving to the mountains and hunting and fishing until I have grandkids to worry with. Thank you to all who've offered advice and PM'd me with helpful info.

I'm all about smallmouth fishing. I used to live on Wilson and fished it a bunch.
