New Orleans is on the EAST side, with a landfall at 1 am Sat, I doubt the Stones are gonna be anywhere near New Orleans.

What you may not know is a big part of New Orleans floods anytime there is a couple of inches of rain. More than 10 inches will be a disaster.

Ms River level is already at 16' and the levees are at 20-25'. This may get interesting. Most don't fully understand the situation here. When it rains and streets flood, the water doesn't just flow to the river like in other cities. Since New Orleans is below sea level, it must be pumped up and over levees. It took hours to pump out the rain water yesterday from only 3 hrs of rain. With a hurricane and several hours of rain too much water will over power those pumps. They are arguing at City Hall about this, but it's too late now. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

It's going to get interesting, that's for sure! I'm sitting down in Venice, LA now riding it out at work. We went from about 40 people here down to 4. I evacuated 7 boats at 6am this morning, and the parish started mandatory evacuations at 6am too. They closed the flood wall up the road at 2pm, so I'm here for the long haul. They are predicting the river to get up to 19' at the carrolton gauge. That's about a foot shy of disaster.

Wind is picking up...averaging 30-35 with gusts to 40 right now. We got 7 inches of rain in a 3 hour period yesterday morning - that was crazy, especially trying to run the boat down the river in the middle of it!

There’s a carnival cruise ship leaving mobile right now. We’re on top floor of the beach club and the lights are rocking back and forth. Winds at least 35-40 up here. I’d hate to be on that boat right now but they’ll get around it quick

Now they have changed projected landfall to around 7 am Saturday Morning. They also say there is a very small window o0f time where it can turn into a hurricane. Still predicting around 20+' of rain when it does make landfall.
