Have the dates been announced yet for this coming season? tn.gov still shows last year's dates.

Thanks

https://www.tn.gov/twra/news/2019/5...-regulations-for-disease-management.html

For the three-day August (23-25) deer hunt, muzzleloaders were authorized, in addition to archery, for use in Unit CWD. Selected public lands will also be open to hunting in Unit CWD for the August season.

It takes a long time to grow an old friend.

Yes.

Edit - Let me clarify that - I haven't been told that directly by a game warden but as I read it in the regs it would be any legal hunter on private land. This will be my first attempt participating but my friend (who has invited me up there) is an AL resident with family land in TN. They got a nice buck (yes, in velvet) last year during the early hunt.

I'm excited about it. Yeh it'll be weird being up in a stand when it's like 90 degrees out, but it'll scratch the itch to be up in a tree 2 months earlier than normal and maybe possibly even stick a velvet buck.

I hunted it the 1st morning last year, only because I had a giant that was being predictable. I was pouring sweat all morning, never saw a deer. Decided not to hunt the second day because I was scared I was going to blow him out of there. Went in on November 4 again and he walked to 50 yards. Shot him with a muzzleloader and never found him. He was killed 2 miles away the first week of January. Guy told me I sent a bullet all the way through him, I don’t know how it happened. Ended up scoring 157 and change. I still haven’t recovered.
