I imagine that would depend on how far he actually is and what I’m shooting. Live animal and not a plate? Hitting and cleanly killing/recovering are two different things. 12 long points don’t impress buzzards or coyotes.

I think the Swedes make you shoot a running moose target three times@60 yards before you can go out.

Depending on which rifle I had with me that day, 400 yards or less, you will probably see pics of a dead critter.

500 and in, no brainer, shoot him

500-750; things have to be just right but I’d probably do it just because I’ve shot this distance a lot successfully and am extremely confident
