Talking about long range got me to thinking. At one time you could not hunt power lines with rifles and had to get a permit to hunt them . Permit was free !!!!!

At body else remember that far back . Lol

Why would you need a permit to hunt your own land? Power lines are typically on right of ways, not land owned by the utility.

haha, you're asking that question in a country that makes you buy a license to drive on roads your tax dollars pay for, to buy a license to hunt animals your tax dollars care for, to pay admission to parks that your tax dollars take care of and to pay to go to universities that your tax dollars fund.

I remember when RR tracks were prime stalking.

I've been hunting a while, but I don't remember having to pay to hunt a power line across property I had the rights to hunt. RR tracks were always a great place to jump a deer Stob.

Hunting on RR tracks has never been legal in my lifetime, and the RR companies typically own that land so that is understandable.

Of course, it's only illegal if you get caught...😀

Why would I pay a non-government entity for a permit to hunt on property that I already own or lease the rights from the property owner? Different situation from the ones you describe.

A country where you can come here illegally and receive welfare and get to vote, but you can get a fine for catching a fish without a license.

Didn't many worry about it .all you had to do was run by Alabama power and pick it up . It was mostly about the rules/safety sheet you got to
