That is just an awesome job of being disciplined. You wanted it, and you changed habits. That's worth a lot in this day.

Yea, I know,right.

I always thought I was a big man and equated strength to being big but the thing is that I'm actually thin compared to most people I see walking around, but I don't feel thin and don't know that I ever will. It's pretty freaking amazing to suddenly realize that you can jump again or run or even get up off the ground without getting into position first to lift you and your fat. Imagine how you would feel if you fireman carried a 150 person around for 20 years and then suddenly got that person off your back.

Man I've just got a couple bicycles for me and my boy and we have rode about 10 miles in the last 3 days. I'm even off 3 different blood pressure meds now and BP is as good or better than a teenager's. I just eat perfect and that's it. No sugar EVER! in any form. No grain ever, and very limited fruits high in fructose. No artificial sweeteners any more either. My stamina and mental clarity is through the roof. I am just now realizing how dead I was.

Eating perfect to me means that I mostly shop in the produce section and the meat section. I eat as much clean lean meats as I can and I eat salmon, tuna, and sardines, and mackerel. I eat eggs, and cheese but don't drink milk. I eat butter and yogurt, and berries but very limited fruits like bananas and apples. My main diet is green vegetables as raw as I can eat them. I make kale shakes with avocado, coconut oil, and blueberries. I eat a limited amount of pork cause I feel better eating fish, but I eat any whole meat I want. I don't eat meat products like bologna or smoked sausage. Basically,I want to eat everything as close to life as possible.

Oh. and let me just say this too since I am apparently becoming what Richard Simmons would have been if he had been a man.

Most of you guys who say you need to lose 20 pounds probably need to loose 40 and you 40 pounds guys likely need to lose closer to 60. I was wearing a 48-32 Jeans and now I having to wear a belt with my 32-32's. I'm about to move into a 30-32. I had no idea how fat I actually was.and am just now realizing how fat all of America has become and why.

Ya'll need to watch Fed Up on Amazon prime to see what I'm talking about.

I'm not obsessed about my weight anymore at all. Right now I just want to eat healthy ,feel good, live well and enjoy life. I'll continue to eat this way because it's the best way to achieve that goal, and I'll likely lose more weight but all that matters is how I feel in the end.

Congratulations to you! I’m very proud for you and proud of you. You have been a huge motivator for me. I am still eating right and feel great. My weight loss has been screwed up since I got the cortisone shucks in my shoulder. I gained 7 lbs in 24 hours after getting that shot. I’m not getting another one. Not because it made me gain weight, but because it didn’t help. Every time I think I’m past my cravings, another week passes and I realize even more how I never want to eat bad again. I honestly haven’t had a craving for anything in probably 6 weeks. I’m 10 days away from doing keto for 3 months. I honest to goodness don’t know if I’ve EVER felt this good. I really think I feel better now than when I was in high school.

Sugar is evil. It cost me my well being and feeling good through the best years of my life. If I had only known 30 years ago what I know now.

Thanks again for the motivation. I’d love to see a before and now picture of you.

You are doing great buddy. I'm glad and proud for you too. You are just now going to start seeing something amazing. It takes 3 months for it to start.

After your body has been in ketosis for 3 months, the mitochondria of your cells actually change their structure. In essence they rebuild their engines to run off fat and become much more efficient than sugar burners.

Now if you can start combining this with fasting 16-20 hours every day, you will also go into autophagy where your cells start repairing themselves. It will get rid of the disease causing cells in your body. A gentleman ,I forget his name now mapped out all this process just as early ago as 2016 and won the nobel peace prize for it.

Autophagy will in essence make you age backwards. Your cells start repairing themselves and actually eating up the bad ones and recycling them. You can study it all out if you want but this process doesn't happen in sugar burning cells until you fast for over 24 hours, and in fat burning cells in about 16 hours. I guess God had a good reason to tell us to fast.

I call it aging backwards because isn't it basically the same thing if the end result is that your cells get as healthy as when you were a lot younger? I thought I felt bad because I was old and overweight. I was overweight because I had made my body so sick by my standard american diet. I thought 50 meant hurting. I didn't know I was both poisoning myself every day and denying my body anything it needed to naturally heal itself.

I'm sorry guys, but that's the honest truth. I thought sugar was natural and people had been eating it for ever. If you think like that ,you need to educate yourself. Watch the SUGAR documentary on Amazon and that Fed UP documentary and look even further into what the real truth is.

The body is extremely efficient and designed for times of feast and famine............ today very few ever experience famine.

RH I read quite a bit about autophagy last night and this morning. It’s very interesting and I guess that because the guy won the NPP in 2016 is why I’ve started hearing more about fasting in the past year or so than I’d ever heard about it. After reading about it I decided to do a 24 hour fast. I thought I’d been doing some intermittent fasting in the past 3 months and should have realized that I hadn’t, all due to the 3-4 ounces of bourbon that I’ve been drinking to help me sleep. So today, after eating 3 eggs and a grilled hamburger patty for breakfast, my intention is to not eat again until tomorrow morning. I know that fasting isn’t a spiritual process for everyone, but if I don’t eat again until tomorrow morning, it’s going to take a WHOLE lot of prayer on my part.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

What I do Fur is most of my fast is at night and I rarely do a 24 hour unless I just ate a lot and feel full and need to process all I ate already. One basic thing I have learned on this journey is that I do best when I only eat after I have processed all my food.

Back to the fast now though. I eat only during a 4-6 hour window. That window will shift depending on how I feel and what I'm doing but doesn't matter as long as I'm at least 16 hours from last meal to next, and that includes anything that can trigger an insulin response like alcohol or even an artificial sweetened drink. I only drink black coffee and water or unsweetened tea during that fast. If I feel like I am getting low blood sugar because I am going pretty hard like riding my bike,or working out. I will drink 2 tbl spoons of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water with some pink salt.

I sleep through 6- 8 hours of that 16 hour fast every night though, so it's not too tough. I also want to say that I worked up to this over a year. I always listen to my body because it was 50 years old and very sick. I did push myself because you won't get far if you don't,but you also have to be smart and not kill your stupid sick self trying to eat him .LOL. Whenever anybody talks about the old me and how I was,I don't like it. I don't even like that person any more. I sometimes tell them, depending on who I am talking to," The old me,well,I ate that fat lazy bastard."

Fur,and everybody else listening
I got this way because I actually started trying to do what I knew to be the right thing to do. Yea,I know what a novel concept ,right? Truth though is that most of us do what is easy and convent a lot more than what we really know is the right thing. So the question would naturally be ,what is the right thing, right? It's the thing that brings love, joy peace, goodness, gentleness, meekness, kindness, long suffering, and anything else I left out, all the fruit that we are really supposed to be growing as Christians, right?

We can't grow fruit though if we aren't connected to the vine, and how can the Holy Spirit lead us if we won't do what we know that the Voice of Truth is telling us to do? Pretty simple but pretty profound actually. it's one of those truths that you can't explain as much as experience.
