I’ve got a three day stretch off from the hospital and decided to go down to the beach. Would like to get on a 8-12 hour trip for tomorrow 23 June. Last minute decision and it’s just me. Going flounder gigging tomorrow evening, but wanted to get out into some blue water for snapper, trigger, and maybe amberjack tomorrow morning. If anyone knows of a charter looking to fill one spot.

Go over to Zekes and tell them you want to do a walk on. By around 6PM they should have you on a boat and call to let you know which one and when to be at the dock. Done it many times and never had a bad trip.

You can always do the catch and filet release on those reef donkeys and big lips right now.

Thanks guys I got a spot on the Wishbone C.A.T. from Zekes. 10 hour trip. Must be a small boat only 12 total fisherman going out on it. Gotta be at the dock by 0530 for check in and we leave out at 0600. Going flounder gigging tomorrow night (a first for me). I’ll keep you guys posted on tomorrow’s catch and thank y’all for helping me last minute.

Not me, at least not on the beer part. I'm ready to be perfectly still and not throw up for a few hour stretch when I get back from a deep sea trip.

Had a blast and we got our limit on snapper. I caught the biggest triggerfish I’ve ever caught, but they weren’t in season. Largest snapper was 21 lbs and a couple of 15+, 35 lb. cobia. Kingfish and bonita, several white snapper and vermillion (I think that’s how you spell it).
Went gigging flounder at dark and we got 7 flounder. Two were over 20 inches and the largest was 6 1/2 lbs. I guess that’s big for flounder. It had a small pin fish still in its mouth. I got pics! My girlfriends nephew took me and said it was a very good trip for the conditions. Water was a little choppy, but we were only in waist to knee deep water. Hard to pick them out on the sandy bottom, but once I knew what to look for it was a little easier. Netted some blue crab and I stuck a couple of small stingrays too.

Found out the hard way of trying to put too much into one day. 47 years old and driving for 4 1/2 hours down to orange beach, jumping on a boat at 5:30 in the morning, all day of playing in the sun and catching fish, to go out again a few hours later gigging flounder for half the night. It took me another day to recover, but I had a blast. Memories made!

I got pics if anyone wants to post them up. I’m gonna talk to some guys at work about possible planning a trip. Not sure which one I like more deep sea fishing or flounder gigging! Thank you guys again for pointing me in the right direction and getting me on a boat last minute.
