Was wondering if anyone has seen this around the bham area. Thinking about one, to set up for my dad to use instead of the browning bps 3.5 of mine he uses few times a year. I mean he is only 78 and loves the 3.5. Why? I hate it I despise pain.......

Not sure about Birmingham but there was one 20gauge in stock at Reynolds in Opelika.
If you're wanting to go for less recoil/weight, why not go all the way down to 410?

X2. I've got the 410, and it's a 50 yard gun all day

You don’t save a lot on recoil going to a lightweight 20 if you’re planning on shooting full house TSS loads thru it. The one I carry seems like it kicks more than I remember my 12 kicking. But you carry turkey guns way more than you ever shoot them. I’d trade the weight for the recoil anyday

I love the 301T .410 I have. I killed 3 longbeards with it last year. I want the 20 just to have it, my only complaint is the mile long barrel.

I am torn between the 20 ga and 410. I have a couple of 20s, so thinking I will go the 410 route. They do seem like awesome guns for the money.

Here's a pattern pic from the 410 at 40 yards. That's with 388 pellet per oz. 9's, so it's technically more like a 9.25 than a 9.5.

Why does they have to have a 26" barrel on em? Why don't companies get it when it pertains to turkey guns? SMDH

Does the 410 need stabilization provided by the longer barrel?

i understand what you're saying but the turkey i killed with mine this year was in as tight of quarters as you can get and the barrel didn't effect me getting on him. its not much longer than the H&R 410 that ive been hunting with the last couple of years. just have to pay attention when setting up so you don't block yourself if you have to swing

I wasn't thrilled about that either until I handled one. The overall length of the gun is 41.5". My compact 870 20 gauge is 40.5". So in overall length, you've still got a very compact gun.

True. My current .410 has a 26" barrel (with no choke sticking out of it though) but I wish it was substantially shorter. My primary carry 20 gauge has the 18.5" junior barrel on it so it is most likely another 2.5" shorter than your compact. Been a short barrel toter since birth, so I always try to stay in my lane. grin

They make one with a 22 in barrel if I read it right.

I don't think those are tapped for chokes, don't have the rail for a reflex site, etc.????

I think they might be threaded for chokes at least according to this. He says removable modified choke.

Interesting. Wonder if the .410 is the same? Always blows my mind how poor gun companies and retailers are at including such details on their websites.

Jughead, absolutely. It's quite sad how many large corporations operate.
Many are like dinosaurs. The larger they get, the stupider they get.
