I've killed twelve this year on creeks I've been on.

Here’s one from a couple weeks ago at the golf course. Bad part about it was that I was playing a match play tournament and couldn’t move the ball. The snake was mad and standing his ground. My partner had to keep it occupied while I hit the shot. Fairly certain you get a drop from that, in same condition, no better line of shot Same as fire ants in your stance

I went to the lease yesterday. We have a few wicker and metal chairs on the porch outside the sliding glass doors. Before I left Me and my buddy Sat on the porch for a little while shooting the breeze like we always do. My buddy was in the wicker on the right and I was in the metal chair on the left in the pic. He sent me this picture through the glass door about 2 hours after I left. It about made me sick to my stomach sneaky bastages. He said it had 13 rattles and a button Dang it man! That’s crazy! I agree with Out Back in that Rattlers have the calmest demeanor of all the venomous snakes, but one that’s hanging out that close to a place where humans tread wouldn’t get a pass. I might would try to relocate if it was possible to do so safely, but folks get bit messin with snakes so it may have to go on to the afterlife. This thread is getting me thinking about buying a new pair of snake boots before the bow opener.

Big, that looks like some kind of king snake. Pretty uncommon. Hope u gave him a pass. That corn snake is a beautiful specimen. My favorite snake.
My brother in Louisiana sent me a video of a water moccasin he killed Saturday under his new boat parked in the yard. Was still squirming but was minus his head. Said the thing hissed at him otherwise he’d never knew it was there. He got lucky.

big country,
What kind of snake in the first pic? That corn snake has some nice colors on him. The first one is an eastern coachwhip. Apparently they are common here in this part of NC but it is the first one I’ve seen. That corn snake is one of the nicest ones I’ve seen the pics hardly do it justice it was a beaut!

Dr. B I thought it was a pine snake as well, I showed the pic to the wildlife biologist and he told me what it was. I would have liked to kept that corn snake but he was little feisty so I just moved him out of the road and let him go.
