Upon further review I mistakenly identified the pond peddler from what it actually is. It’s a 6’ pedal drive catamaran with a 12 volt trolling motor that is optional equipment.

But I would disagree with you on the kayak part. But either one I definitely would be wearing a PFD and my seaman dog would too.

That was the day of the billfish tournament and when all those big ass boats came by the platform ol dude lit a cigarette and basically said goodbye. We went down there to rescue him if he sank or went over but he made it through all the waves. Crazy what people will do to catch a fish. I’ve seen bass boats 30 miles out in three to five ft seas and 16-18 ft single motor boats 60-80 miles offshore

I've seen that too, and the crazy thing is that the people taking those small boats way out are mostly folks with little gulf experience. They live somewhere like TN and brought their bass boat down on vacation and think nothing of running it 30.miles out in the gulf. It's really surprising we don't hear of more fatal accidents than we do.

I have seen with my own eyes a 16' bass tracker 40+ miles out. We were fishing at the same rig pretty early one morning. I noticed he had several extra gas cans in the boat and asked how much further he was planning to go. He had been out on the water since the morning before (spent the night out there). Guys said he does it a couple times per year when the forecast allows. He caught a stud AJ while we were there too.

It happened May 26, 2017, with a few little differences. Instead of a pond boat it was a smaller Contender (21' or so), anchored and sitting still when a 23' catamaran T-boned them in the wide open. If an IDOT can "not see" a 20'+ Contender, this guy stands no chance.

You don’t know a damn thing about me. Internet insults don’t bother me and says a lot about you.

I do want to apologize to all the members on here for using GD in my earlier post. I’m better than that and shouldn’t let someone that’s a total stranger on an Internet forum get under my skin. I’ll do better and move on.

I’ve always tried to be a positive poster on this forum. Encourage others and congratulate them on their outdoor accomplishments. I even try to pray for those in need. I’m by no means perfect or a shitstarter but at times have participated in threads and have acted like a jackass and I’ve admitted that many times on here.

But nothing infuriates me more than a member on here that jumps into a thread and try to insinuate that the OP is stupid and doesn’t know what he is talking about. Which you have done in the past on some of my offshore threads. You come across as if that ain’tshit and I could do better. Maybe it’s just me I don’t know. It’s kind of like people that send emails and you read it and think man that dude is an asshole. So like I said it’s the Internet and the majority of us are strangers so we don’t know each other’s personalities.

Also I don’t need any self gratification from anybody on here on things I post. I just post things I see in my state wide travels. Plus I’m a safety professional and do risk assessments so while I may look at things in that light I understand others may see it differently. And that’s fine. I grew up on the Gulf fishing and became a certified scuba diver over thirty five years ago. But I’m no expert in either just love being on the coast and fishing whenever I get a chance to.

BTW I talked to the feller in pond peddler and he said he was from Arkansas down here on vacation.
