Find out which model and color you want, email every dealer you'd be willing to drive to, go with the one that gives the best price. Make sure you get an "out the door" price so you can compare fees. Tuscaloosa Toyota was the cheapest I found, I just bought a 2019 TRD Off-road from them about a month ago I bought a TRD off-road access cab last year for 35k from Tuscaloosa Toyota. They beat everyone else in the southeast. I spent over a month and a half looking.
Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

Thinking about starting the process of looking for a new Tacoma. Where’s the best deals? Got a family friend that can get the best deal he says from Clearwater Toyota in Tampa. He works for Honda up here owned by Sonic automotive group? Stepson just got a 2019 4x4 TRD sport for 34,000.00 through him. Give me some advice guys. I will be selling my 2009 4x4. It has 437,000 miles but is still running like new. What’s its worth while we’re at it? If he really bought a new TRD for 34k he should buy one every chance he gets. He could drive them for 2 years and still make a profit. Also, that's easy below invoice and even after hold back the dealership would take a bath at that price. Not saying he didn't buy it for that but I'll give him 3k profit for every one he can get at that price and I'll sell it at a profit to a Toyota dealership that I used to work at. I paid 32 in 2017 for a new TRD off road with every upgrade package they had.

I actually think it's less than 10%. At least according to a friend whose family owns some dealerships. Almost no one does it. GM for sure makes it almost impossible to pay cash. They obviously want you financing, and buying more car. They're not stupid. [/quote]
I read one time that GM hasn't made a dime in profit on vehicle sales directly since 1968. They make the money on service and financing.

The new ones have 278 hp and also offer paddle type shifting so you can select what gear you want manually if desired. They will also fly with your foot on the gas

It's amazing how many people talk about being independent, taking care of themselves and leaving other people alone yet will turn around and tell someone they're not living right, not saving money correctly, shouldn't go to this city or do that trip or take their kids here-there or are not doing things "the right way."
When, y'know, it's really none of anyone else's business.
Someone wants to live frugally in Tinytown and be scared of going to a city with more than 10,000 people and live in a bubble? Fine.
Someone wants to spend all their money or buy new vehicles and boats and clothes and guns or hunting trips and do whatever? Fine.

What makes financial sense and what's right are two different things. You have an OPINION. God didn't give you a stone tablet on the mountaintop with the Ten Commandments of fiscal responsibility. Actually, since you chose to bring God into it, there are multiple verses in the Bible, both OT and NT, that suggest you should avoid debt when possible. Is debt completely totally 100% avoidable? No, not really, not for a large majority of people. But BIBLICALLY, one should strive to at least minimize debt as much as possible.

OK after all the internet searches and advice (which I greatly appreciate), Aldeer and my mechanic have convinced me to pull the trigger on a 2015 Tacoma for my son. It has 61000 miles but it gets to the 25000 range anyways. I went with the 2015 because the consensus is that after that is when quality dropped. We won't get it until Tuesday because they have to bring it in from another Carmax dealer. I hope it is as clean and good as they say. Pictures are nice anyhow. Edit: if I don’t find the blasted title to the trade in I won’t be doing anything until I can get a replacement. Got one for every other car in our fleet except the one I need and I saw it a couple of months ago.

<in your opinion> You’re stating that as a fact. That is what is rubbing people the wrong way, as I read the conversation

<in your opinion> You’re stating that as a fact. That is what is rubbing people the wrong way, as I read the conversation No ,what's rubbing anyone wrong is that nobody likes to be told their toys cost too much, especially when they know it. Anybody that can actually afford a new Toyota truck would probably just nod their head and agree when I encouraged folks to spend their money wisely. It's the ones who are mortaged to the hilt and the damn payment will eat their lunch that don't want to be told they don't need a new truck before taking care of other financial responsibilities. Oh my,I gave an opinion on a public talk forum. Is that new? Are we just sticking to facts from now on? I'll just keep on giving my opinions, mostly because I wish somebody had told me the same when I was a lot younger.

I'm still driving my last 6K tuck 10 years later and still driving my last 15K truck 7 years later. You bought them 3 years apart?
