KS definitely has group option. My hunting partner and I have always done that but it has never been an issue. This year we did not and fortunately we both were successful. It's his friend's family land , so I would've been out of luck had he not been drawn too.

I got shut out on the Kentucky bull elk draw. I did get an email today that my Colorado mule deer tag was successful. My hunting partner got his Colorado tag too.

The first trip to KS, I didn't apply for draw until the second draw for leftover tags which was in June/July of that year. Called and registered at midnight of draw. We both got tags but they were for units that were not where we hunted. As long as they are confluent, you are OK. My unit was not exactly close but since we were hunting private family land it worked out. I was gonna play dumb if confronted - I'm good at that. It might be worth applying for the leftover tags for those that didn't get one with initial draw

Our outfitter told us there were zero (0) left over tags for the entire state of Kansas. No 2nd draw this year.

I'm still waiting to see total # apps vs. tags allocated. Hoping they release that report to show breakdown for each unit. My units (1, 2) sell out every year with no leftover.

There's a lot of hope in Units 1 and 2, but there are no deerz there. laugh

1 & 2 never have had many tags.

None of the NW units have.

Those units have huge mulies though.

There were over 3,000 applicants who chose Unit 1 as their 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th choice. All that pressure for 850 white-tailed deer tags and 50 mule deer tags.
