My in-laws bought a Blue Green timeshare when FIL was still alive and plans to travel often. Now they have hundreds of places you can stay, which is the good news. The bad news is they never seem to have any availabilities at the more popular locations. If it ever gets deeded or whatever the correct term is, to us, it will be on the market, cheap!
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

We own a Disney DVC timeshare...it's the only one I'd ever consider. No perpetuity agreement with it.
I could sell it right now, within a week of putting it on the market, for 1.5 times what I paid for it.

I don't even go back to that section of the store if I can avoid it just so I don't have to fend off the vacations sales people. Plus, I usually just buy online. I love that section. By the time I get through with their salesman he's usually crying

The bad news is they never seem to have any availabilities at the more popular locations. If it ever gets deeded or whatever the correct term is, to us, it will be on the market, cheap! You have to give them away. The points value is pennies on the dollar on the secondary market. We just gave our's away to get rid of it. It cost the buyer transfer fees of around $750. The last I heard Bluegreen was "trying" to sell them for $3.20 a point. My wife and I made the mistake (we were young) and bought one with Blue Green. We was thinking we could take alot of trips. WELL, that turned out to be a d@mn lie. I wish I could get my hands around the throat of that SOB in Gatlinburg. Oh, how good it would feel........ We was told one thing, we'll after the fact...things were much different. We've used it over the years, but I was glad to chunk that thing. If you work it right, you can get alot a nice vacations. But you have to buy resale on the same deed type. Then you only have to pay one yearly maintenance fee, and your taxes on the deed. You have to stay away from those selling SOBS. I can't stand to be near them. I always let my wife talk to them because if I snap...I'm beating $12.500 outta of somebody's arse.
